Last Sunday around 12h00 Haohao and Xinghui, the two giant pandas, have landed at Brussels Airport.
To make sure they don’t miss any food on the way to their new house Herfurth Logistics Air Freight manager, Pierre Daelemans, loaded his car with the necessary fresh bamboos and brought the precious food to the 2 dedicated trucks waiting at Brussels airport.

The specialized team of Herfurth Logistics coordinated all the necessary customs formalities with the Belgian authorities to secure a smooth and fast immigration process for the 2 stars of the weekend.

The 2 giants Pandas have been imported to Belgium in view of a reproduction program initiated at the luxuriant PAIRI DAIZA animal garden in Brugelette in the southern part of the country.  Herfurth Logistics also arranged and coordinated the necessary controls of  the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC-FAVV-AFSCA) upon arrival of the Pandas at the airport.

‘’HERFURTH LOGISTICS is a yearlong partner of the PAIRI DAIZA park as recognized specialists in the handling of live animals. We are particularly proud to be part of the delicate import operation of the 2 high-value animals’’ says Olivier d’Hoop managing director of Herfurth. ‘’This is also a highly appreciated know-how recognition for our specialized team at Brussels airport’’.

This spectacular event appeared widely in the media and has been honored by the presence of numerous authorities, including H.E. the Ambassador of China and the Prime Minister of Belgium Mr. Elio Di Rupo.
